Uploading photos and videos using the official Instagram app on your phone is a pretty easy task. However, you may encounter some difficulty if you want to upload content to Instagram from your Mac. For example, why can’t a user see the upload button when accessing your Instagram through your Mac’s browser?  And can you upload from any type of browser, whether it be Chrome, Firefox, or Safari?

If you’re curious to have the question answered, “Can you upload to Instagram from Mac?”, then stick around until the end of this article. We’ll tell you exactly what you need to know about uploading your photos and videos to Instagram from a Macbook computer.

How to upload to Instagram from Mac browser

If you’ve wondered whether it’s possible to upload photos and videos to Instagram from your Mac, then here’s the simple answer: It’s definitely possible, though it can become a lengthy process. Keep in mind, however, that uploading content with a computer will affect the quality of the image you upload. Many people who’ve uploaded using a PC have reported a reduction in the quality of images they upload, such as the images appearing blurry.

One of the reasons for this is that using your Mac to upload means you could break Instagram’s default 1080 x 1350px max resolution guideline. So if the picture you upload is greater than 1080 x 1350px, then the picture’s size will be lowered, thus affecting the uploaded picture’s quality.

Another reason for this could be the format of picture you use. Instagram uses JPEG(.jpg) as its format for pictures. What this means is that if your image is PNG(.png) or any other format, it will be converted first to JPEG(.jpg) — and this process affects your picture’s quality.
